Member of the Croatian basketball team Oliver Lafayette will not be able to play in the upcoming Eurobasket due to the knee injury which occurred during yesterdays preparatory match against Germany.
Lafayette injured himself in the 5th minute of the game and upon returning to Zagreb, medical team of the Croatian Basketball Federation issued a statement saying that the MRI showed a meniscus rupture, hence Lafayette will be forced to support his fellow team mates from the bench.
This new injury certainly did not help the head coach Velimir Perasović regarding the final list of players he will be able to take to the Eurobasket which is starting on September 5th in Zagreb. 13 candidates are still going through the remaining preparation training, and only one of them will not make the final cut.
If we analyse both games against Germany last week, then we can safely say that the only dilemma will be whether to include Tomislav Zubčić or Željko Šakić in the final team.
