January 20, 2020 – We’ve already gotten somehow used to the fact that in the food and drinks industry when something is considered to be the best in Croatia, like a Mason Burger, it will probably get some international recognition too.
That’s exactly what happened to Mason Burgers today when a famous travel website Big 7 Travel included the Croatian creation on their list of 50 best burgers you can have in Europe. It was the Mason Burger, created by chef Ivan Zidar, a burger-creating franchise based in Pula which produces burgers you can eat at numerous locations in Croatia throughout the year. They are also present at many significant tourist and gourmet events, as well as at many locations on the coast during the tourist season. Mason Burgers were the winners of two Zagreb Burger Festivals, in 2017 and 2018 and it really shouldn’t surprise anyone that they are considered the best burger there is in Croatia.
The site, Big 7 Travel, says the following in their justification for putting the Mason Burger on this prestigious list: “Think you’ve had gourmet burgers before? Think again, ‘cos few places can compare to Mason Burgers & Stuff, an award-winning Croatian burger bar. Flavoursome, smoked beef patties come in doughy buns with toppings such as apricot and caramel onion jam and local ingredients, with a focus on Istrian cheese.” And it’s true, a Mason Burger is creative, innovative but at the same time, because of the nature of their business model, dedicated to maintaining the quality of their product at all times.
You can find the Mason Burger at the several locations in Zagreb, including the Mali Medo Brewery in Tkalčićeva, Fakin Craft Bar in Vukovarska and for a while now they’ve been announcing that they’ll open their own location in Zagreb – but it’s not clear why it’s taking so long.
