September 4, 2023 – For her birthday, and to honor what we like to think is one of her favourite countries in the world, we’ve decided to explore some of Beyonce’s connections to Croatia. Our favourite is the fact that she named her daughter after the blue ivy from Hvar. Title photo: Romulic and Stojcic/Zigman Instagram
Before we get to that, though, let us praise our own. As Journal writes, the list of world stars who chose Juraj Zigman’s creations for their performances is getting longer. Recently, it was Beyoncé herself who chose his creation for her Renaissance tour. Zigman personally announced it on his profile, and as he says, he never dreamed that Beyonce could wear his work.
“Incoming!!!! I never thought I would ever write this, I’m so overwhelmed that the queen herself @beyonce wore a custom look by ZIGMAN for the #RenaissanceTour“, said one of Juraj Zigman’s posts, announcing the great collab.
And Beyoncé praised his creation on social media. The designer added that his team had been waiting for it for a long time. Several months of hard work and dedication were behind them, but the end result could not have been better.
So, it is Queen B’s birthday today. And While it might not be this one, she did celebrate one in Croatia.
She is 42, has three children, but looks like a girl, writes 24Sata. The People magazine declared her the most beautiful woman in the world. She is also highly positioned in the categories ‘beauty at every age’ and ‘breathtaking stars’.
The singer points out that her good looks are mostly a matter of genetics, but she does not hide that she follows a strict protein diet every now and then, exercises three times a week for 90 minutes, combining running, dancing, and ab exercises. This is one of her rare birthdays that she will spend working and singing in Calgary, Canada.
“My birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing the most beautiful silver combinations” – Beyoncé has been saying from the beginning of the tour, inviting her followers to attend her concerts wearing silver.
mayor of Hvar: Beyonce’s daughter Is a ‘guest of honor’
As for Queen B’s connections to Croatia, she and her husband visited in 2009, 2011, and 2020. Beyoncé celebrated her 39th birthday touring the Adriatic coast on the super-luxury yacht Faith. The Carters fell in love with Croatia in 2009 on Hvar and have been returning happily ever since.
“We woke up this morning and took a nice little walk and we passed by this beautiful blue tree. I think it’s Blue Ivy, which would be very appropriate” – shared Beyoncé back in 2011. She was pregnant with her first daughter and thus announced she found the inspiration for her girl’s name Blue Ivy in Croatia.
The mayor of Hvar at the time, Pjerino Bebić, declared the girl an honored guest of Hvar. In a letter addressed to Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z Carter, Bebić said that the story of the origin of their daughter’s name ‘brought enormous media attention and promotion to the town and island of Hvar’. He invited the whole family to visit again.
US Magazine, Time Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post and Hollywood Gossip were just some of the media that reported on Hvar’s move. Even CNN took a statement from Pjerin Bebić.
