Preparation for the stage 3: Trogir – Sv. Jure (Nature Park Biokovo)
A press release from the Dugopolje Tourist Board:
‘Tour of Croatia’ is the most beautiful tourist postcard Croatia will send out to the world this year, and the race organisers and members of eight different teams (Bahrain Merida, Astana Pro Team, Trek Segafredo, CCC Sprandi Polkowice, Team Novo Nordisk, Caja Rural Seguros RGA, Gazprom-Rusvelo, Adria Mobil) have chosen the Katarina Hotel in Dugopolje as their host during the Dalmatian stages of the Tour (Stage 2: Karlovac-Zadar, Stage 3: Trogir-Sv. Jure, Stage 4: National Park Paklenica – Crikvenica).
“Tour of Croatia is an example of a project which has many positive effects on Croatia’s tourism. First of all, for promotional purposes as the race takes place over a distance of around 1000 kilometres, and passes through almost the entire area of our country, coast, and continent. The focus of the Croatian Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism is the development of events in the pre- and post- tourist season, namely, the extension of the tourist season. The Tour of Croatia race is an example of how big international events can help achieve that goal. This is why, this year, we are proud partners of the race that has successfully positioned itself as the most exciting cycling race in the country,” announced the director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Kristin Staničić, thanking the organisers for not only bringing a significant number of athletes to Croatia annually, but also for bringing Croatia to homes across the world.
The Hotel Katarina would also like to thank the organizers and cycling teams who have recognised the unique accommodation near Split, as well as Inland Dalmatia, an undiscovered and exciting new tourist destination which offers, among other things, opportunities for all cycling enthusiasts. With over 1500km of cycling trails, Central Dalmatia is becoming one of the fastest growing and most desirable cyclotourism destinations in the Mediterranean.
