The 12th National Prosciutto Fair will be held in Sinj from April 8th to April 9th.
Prosciutto will be celebrated in Sinj this weekend for the 12th National Prosciutto Fair! The fair, held traditionally to embrace Croatian prosciutto (or smoked ham) and cured meat products, will be held at the hotel Alkar on April 8th and April 9th.
An essential driver for the promotion of prosciutto as an original product, the fair also highlights the prosciutto production in Croatia as a promising sector for economic development. During the event, the movers and the shakers of the prosciutto industry will have the opportunity to exhibit their products where visitors can see, taste and buy anything they like.
Because no event would be complete without a rich cultural and entertainment program, the 12th National Prosciutto Fair will see performances by many cultural and artistic groups from the area of Dalmatia and Lika, with many presentations of traditional customs and handicrafts.
Visitors to the event will also be able to enjoy producers of wine, olive oil, and other local products from Croatia, and there will even be a book fair exhibition presented by 1.Klaster Women Entrepreneurs of Croatia. A series of workshops will also be planned in relation to current topics in the field of agriculture and the economy by eminent experts.
This year’s fair will see the participation of many leading manufacturers of prosciutto and cured meat products from all over Croatia. Honorable presenters include producers from Slavonia, the regional meat industry, representatives from the Association of Producers, leading manufacturers “Istrian Prosciutto and Drniš Prosciutto”, and guests from Italy, Slovenia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina, among many others. There will also be representatives of leading retail chains, hoteliers, and restaurateurs in attendance.
Who better than Sinj – a town that has a long-standing tradition of producing prosciutto and cured meats with recipes and secrets that reach deep into their past – to hold the National Prosciutto Fair?
The fair is held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, and is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economy, Business and Trade, HGK- County Chamber Split, Hamag BICRO, HBOR, LAG-Cetina, Tourist Board of Sinj, Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County, and the Tourist Board of Split.
