For the third year in a row, the Cultural Art Center in Sinj, in cooperation with KineDok, has organized film screenings of documentary films.
This year, the Cultural Art Center and KineDok have prepared a total of 8 top documentaries, many of which have been awarded at festivals all over Europe. In addition, there may even be projections of the filmmakers themselves with a possible filmmaker discussion after each film.
The screenings began last night with the viewing of “End of the World” by Monika Pawluczuk and will take place each Thursday at 8 pm in the attic of the Sikirica Gallery. The entrance is free, and each film lasts an average of 45 minutes.
KineDok is a new kind of international community, a unique movie club, and an alternative distribution platform that combines lovers and creators of creative documentary films. In 2017, 16 documentary films from Eastern and Central Europe will be shown in 20 non-traditional locations in each of the participating countries: Croatia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Norway.
In the form of a common experience that goes beyond the established boundaries of the cinema hall, KineDok arrives at your local club, cafe, or gallery, and invites you to not only view a film on the big screen, but also encourages you to get acquainted with the authors or protagonists of the movie in an informal environment and have the chance to speak to them about a variety of topics.
Without a dedicated audience, there is no documentary, and without the author there would be no voice that represents the audience. KineDok supports this symbiosis, urges to make this art available, and hopes to expand the voice and the fundamental message of KineDok which is: The people, their questions, these genres, these places and these countries should not be ignored!
The next screening will be held next Thursday, May 5th at 8 pm.
