Having opened just over a year ago, one of the greatest additions to tourism in the Dalmatian hinterland celebrates their 40,000th visitor.
The city of Sinj surely has something to offer, and recently marking the first year anniversary of the Museum of the Sinjska Alka is as good a reason as any to visit the museum, who just celebrated their 40,000th visitor.
The museum has a way of taking you in, with plenty to see and tons to learn about. From the second you walk into the museum, you are greeted history, culture, and a visually pleasing experience. From the opening of the film that is first displayed to the historic weapons such as pistols and sabers to the uniforms – and especially the historical aspect of the turbulent wars in the areas of the Cetina region – to the finite details about the Alka tournament itself, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The area of the museum has a total of 12 sculptures of Alka horse in their natural size, with all of the exhibits in the museum original.
Although there is some room for improvement for the museum, such as the lack of handsets with interactive translations for tourists, the museum does look to soon equip the museum with such – with audio aids of up to 6 languages.
This figure should only grow from 40,000, as tourist boards and travel agencies in the region are working hard to better the promotion of the entire hinterland and the Cetina region.
The Museum of the Sinjska Alka is located in the Alka Knights Court in Sinj.
