September 25, 2023 – To become a successful Bikademy Student and win valuable cycling prizes, you need a bike and a good (internet) connection. Križevci, the newest Bikademy Study, leads students through the extraordinary nature of Prigorje, the region where Križevci is situated, as well as the cultural heritage of that region.
In addition to the city itself, the Križevci Study has five more Exams: Stare Obreške Klijeti, Lake Čabraji and Kapela Ravenska, Old Town Kalnik, and Gornja Rijeka.
Many know Križevci as the “gates of Prigorje”, so the campaign was aptly named “Gates to the Adventures”. The opening of the Study was done in partnership with the Tourist Board of the town of Križevci and the Koprivnica-Križevci County, together with the partners of Bikademy, Enna Grupa and Giant Hrvatska.
Bikademy As a Tool for Cyclo-Tourism
Bikademy is an innovative cycle tourism concept that, just like a formal academy, has Students, Studies and Exams. In the free Bikademy application, you need to choose a Study – region or city, and cycle to the Exam – location within the Study. Exams are not only well-known cultural and natural landmarks, but also hidden gems worth discovering.
To pass the Study and win the rewards, you need to check-in on the application at the predefined Exams within the selected Study. Exams can be cycled over several days and in the order that the student prefers.
Bikademy is available throughout Croatia – in five Slavonian counties, Istria, Zagreb, Šibenik, Rab and the island of Pag.
Krešimir Herceg, the owner of Bikademy, points out that their mission is to motivate people to explore cultural and natural heritage by bicycle and at the same time to promote destinations as
desirable for cycle tourists. He believes that Prigorje is an ideal destination for cycling, especially in the current early fall and spring.
