A beautiful building built entirely of wood and stone has been fully restored in the municipality of Vrgorac.
In the small village Gornji Orah at the hamlet of Brljevići – just near the border crossing to Orahovlje, lies a newly renovated stone house tucked away in an inland Dalmatian fantasy.
Just 6.5 kilometers from the center of Vrgorac, this stone house dates back more than two centuries. The space was converted by the idea and desires of the owner Ivo Šarić in an effort to be saved from oblivion and adapt to the needs of today.
The interior decoration, in addition to the aforementioned stone combined with wooden elements, is dominated by white color. The furniture is either tailor-made or purchased by domestic production.
The decoration of the house itself was extensive and lasted nearly two years, although most of the time was spent on building the house alone as every stone needed to be processed manually to maintain the authenticity of the building.

A modern element of this house is the large swimming pool that has been built in the backyard. One of this project’s major specialities is that part of the house has incorporated living rock – making it an integral part of the building, successfully preserving nature and the environment.
