Well-known Vrtlar company, that is in charge of decorating public green areas in Dubrovnik, organized a project titled “Be a Little Gardener and Decorate Your City”, a program organized for children in order to teach them how to take care of public spaces.
Children from Gruž kindergarten were taught how to plant the flowers, how to take care of it and how to behave in the public parks, such as in Lujo Šoletić park where the activites took place. Vrtlar employees presented their daily job duties and encouraged children in helping them making a city of Dubrovnik more beautiful. Children from Ciciban kindergarten made their own flower bouquets participating in a workshop where Vrtlar employees explained the young participants what to prepare for wedding decorations and how to distinguish different types of flowers.
Little gardeners from Pile kindergarten were taught to distinguish indoor and outdoor plants. After each workshop, children were given a plant to bring home and take care of.
It is no secret that with more educational workshops like these, children instill values at a very young age and we all know that by giving even a little to our children we can make a big difference.
