The Third Color, Run, Swim and Fun! Festival Held in Korčula

Total Croatia News

Over two thousand people participated in this event!

On Friday, 13th the project Color, run, swim and fun was opened with a creative culinary workshop, held by one of the most famous chefs in Croatia, Mate Janković and a well known Korčulan pastry maker Smiljana Matijaca of Cukarin, that included over 150 participating children.

On Saturday, the 14th over 200 participants raced in children’s aquathlon race, as well as a race for children and parents, which was held with a goal to raise funds for Korčula kindergarten. Aquathletes swam for 100 meters, and after that ran the course of 750 meters, and the participants were from Korčula, other places in Croatia, but also from Spain, England, France etc. The biggest cheers were again reserved for Baldo Jurišić, a special needs kid who does not let his disability stand in the way of his racing!

This is an amazing and innovative project, which shows how it’s possible to bring the entire island together, institutions, restaurants, associations in order to put together fun, sports, fundraising and gastronomy. The project is organized by djeca.hr portal, owned by Sanda Šeparović, who spent most of her life on the island and is dedicated to promoting and improving it. The project will continue in Split in late August, and will return to Korčula next year!
