Maksimilijan Vanka is a famous Croatian painter who died in 1963. Known as one of the most celebrated Croatian portraitist of the 1920s and 30s, Vanka’s house and studio were donated in 1964 and has exhibited the memorial collection of the popular artist since 1969. The collection consists of paintings, watercolors, pastels, drawings from the 1920s until his death. The new building which houses the works of the artist opened in 1998.
