Charlie’s Bar: A Party Goer’s Paradise

Daniela Rogulj

As the summer season is quickly approaching and the streets of Split are beginning to fill with young tourists, backpackers, and pub crawl aficionados, there is one place that comes to mind if you’re looking to have a good time, and that is Charlie’s Bar. Recommended by many as the hotspot for young adults, Charlie’s bar has made its mark as the staple for thirsty adventurers.

Established in 2010, Charlie’s Bar is tucked away in the center of Diocletian’s Palace on Ul. Petra Kružića 5. Characterizing themselves as the backpacker bar of Split, Charlie’s has created the perfect oasis for a melting pot of young travelers to bask in a booze filled night of indulgence. The bartenders are exceptionally animated, encouraging their patrons to dance hard, sing loud, and not have any care in the world of how jam packed the brick walls surrounding you may be. The lights illuminating down on you are a myriad of rainbow colors that reflect upon the historic Dalmatian brick. What more can you ask for? When you’re here, you’re happy.

They offer an extensive cocktail list, ranging from your basic gin and tonic to mojitos and the ever so famous “Adios”, where the name surely speaks for itself. The prices are more than reasonable for this backpacking bunch, and we’re pretty sure you’ll be staying here until last call. Charlie’s also offers happy hour during the summer, which may be an incredible dream or your worst nightmare (depending on how you choose to use or abuse it).

Charlie’s is also a hostel, offering a safe haven for young travelers to mingle with a jolly group of their new best friends. Everyone that is a part of Charlie’s does their best to make your experience inclusive, as they encourage dinner dates and pub crawl options so you’ll never feel alone.

At Charlie’s you help to control the party. Your experiences are shared with like minded travelers from all over the world, and you’d be happy to share your next drink in Split with anyone from this party hungry crowd. If you’re in Split and you’re traveling with best friends, alone, or just want to meet a new bunch, this is the place to go. Cheers!
