Chang Asian Food & Noodle Bar, new to Bačvice beach. What sounds like a dream too good to be true is a definite reality, and this new Thai and Vietnamese influenced restaurant opened its doors to Asian food craving patrons just a week ago.
Although we have yet to try it, the Chang menu is straight out of any authentic Indochinese restaurant you’d see around the world. Here’s a deeper look:
The appetizers range from Saigon spring rolls (yes, the real ones wrapped in rice paper) to pork dumplings that are made in house, by hand, every day.
Perhaps my favorite thing to see on a menu is Tom Yum, and of course Chang has it, made properly with kaffir lime leaves, galanga, and Thai hot chili peppers. For salads they offer a Chao Phraya which comes with fried egg noodles, cabbage, and teriyaki chicken as well as a Kamala rice noodle salad with shrimp, ginger, and basil.
Chang offers a few rice dishes, and maybe more importantly are their BBQ and noodle options. A stand out dish is their chicken heart skewers, and their Cambodian BBQ is not to be missed. They have three versions of pad thai, ranging from shrimp, to chicken and tofu. They also have a variety of egg noodle stir frys.
Dessert boasts everyone’s favorite fried bananas, as well as the Chang take on fried pineapple with rose pepper ice cream.
Chang has a wide variety of cocktails and beers, because we know that is the best way to enjoy a good Southeast Asian meal.
Having just opened a week ago, we hope to try Chang ASAP and have a pretty good feeling that this one is going to hit the spot.
You can find Chang on Bačvice next to Papa’s.
