Whether you call it “pazar” like the Split people or the “green market” like everyone else, we’re fairly certain this place conjures the same happy feeling for everyone.
A sunny and beautiful Tuesday we’re having on this late November day – and yes, we are just over a week away from December. The people of Split are welcoming warmer weather this week, and the shining rays of the sun are no stranger to our sunglassed-faces. The week has been off to a good start.
One of the essential places to find all of Split’s finest is by frequenting our green market, or what we like to call “Pazar”. And especially on a bright and blazing day like today, you know you’ll find the best of the best of what Split has to offer – from the produce to the people.
Here’s a look at what’s in season at Pazar this week.
“A sale on fat – without salt!” Only 10 kunas a jar.
A lot of prosciutto, smoked meats, sausages, and pork rinds.
Grapes and chestnuts!
From flowers to herbs, Pazar has whatever you need to plant.
And if you’re looking to ward off vampires; garlic ropes are only 35 kunas.
The kids even come out to play at Pazar while their parents greet familiar faces.
Healthy food! From chia seeds to goji berries, you’ll find it here.
The colors!
Apples for days, and we promise none are poisonous.
The fashion!
“Hot bread every hour.”
Green beans, carrots, brussel sprouts, peppers, and so much more.
Pumpkins!
Chickpeas and beans.
All kinds of onions, garlic, and potatoes!
As sweet as honey.
A sale on salad, 8 kunas.
Homegrown, ecological sweet potatoes.
Won’t you visit this week?
