We are very pleased to announce another unique event organized by the Kvartash team on Spinut in Split: presenting to you a contemporary dance workshop on May 31st from 18h-20h at Gradski kotar Spinut.
Contemporary dance workshops draw the participant’s attention to two things: the first being your bodies that you are forever monitoring but rarely think about it, and the second being your functional movement as a starting point in contemporary dance techniques. During this contemporary dance workshop, you will learn about the fall, the jump (unique moves to contemporary dance) and overcome simple dance sequences, elements of stage movement, acrobatics, contact improvisation, and break dance.
Workshop leader Carolina Susa is an independent artist and contemporary dancer from Opatija. In the contemporary dance scene, Susa has worked independently and as a member of the collective TRAS, in which she collaborated with prominent Croatian and international choreographers. She won a scholarship to the prestigious Watermill Center Robert Wilson in New York this summer 2016.
Contemporary dance is a non-institutional learning, and there are many workshops across Croatia with excellent Croatian and foreign teachers (Banich, Hrašćanec, Dusk, Smith, Werner, Walker, Schad and many others), as well as the regular professional training at the Zagreb Dance Company and the Modern Dance Studio.
To sign up for this workshop, be sure to send an email to [email protected] for registration.
Please bring comfortable clothing that allows movement.
This workshop is free.
See you on Spinut!
