And what a New Year’s celebration it was in the Dalmatian capital.
If you were in Split last night, we apologize for the hangover you must be feeling right now – and no, not just from the champagne.
The people of Split delighted in what could have been THE New Year’s Eve celebration the city has ever seen. Thousands – and we mean tens of thousands – Split citizens and inhabitants of the Dalmatia region gathered for music, dancing, a lot of top-lung singing, and a fireworks display that lasted 15 minutes!
The sounds of Mjesni Odbor, Jole, and Gustafi helped the crowd honor the new year ahead, and the city of Split, more alive than ever, has started off on the right foot as they stepped into 2018.
Just to tease you a little more, here’s a look at only part of the 15-minute fireworks display from the Riva, which, as expected, was joined by plenty of other citizen fireworks and flares…a lot of flares.

And perhaps, even more, comforting for the first day of 2018? Check out the Riva this morning.
Would you ever know that the party of the year happened here last night?
