It’s March 17th, which can only mean one thing – it’s St Patrick’s Day! Lucky for you, if you’re in the mood to go green and drink Guinness, there is plenty going around Split this evening for you to enjoy.
Sanctuary Bar: It’s not just St Patrick’s Day, it’s Sanctuary’s 2nd birthday as well! Offering 15kn Jameson shots, the bar will also be drafting a special Dry Hopped American Stout from Zmajska pivovara.
Leopold’s: Leopold’s is offering their own special brew at 15 kuna per liter, Tullamore Dew whiskey for 10 kuna, Irish ginger mix for 15 kuna, and specialty beers including Brewdog Jet Black and Zmajsko’s American Stout. They will also have a pop-up grill serving wings, čevap, etc.
Disco at the Fish Market (disco Peškarija): The famous Peškarija turns Disco, the first in a series of events in support of the upcoming Porin wave. The disco at Peškarija will kick-start the celebrations, with DJ Ante Jakir and Marina Klarić accompanying on saxophone. This year is expected to be a special audio and visual spectacle titled – ‘Stone Heart’ which has an activist element to it. Visitors will be able to purchase a heart-shaped stone which has been collected from the surrounding areas of Split which were affected by the catastrophic 2017 fires; all money will then go towards the reforestation of those areas. The action was initiated by local Split artist Zrinka Barbarić who cooperated with Croatian Forests, Split-Dalmatian County. The event starts at 20:00 and goes through until midnight.
Marvlvs Library Jazz Bar: Jazz Bar will be celebrating the holiday from 6 pm to 11 pm this evening as the only bar serving Guinness that really comes from Ireland since 2013. Touché.
Paradox Wine & Cheese Bar: A St Patrick’s Day celebration at Paradox means a concert by traditional Irish music group Ciotog from Split and traditional Irish snacks from their kitchen.
Split Circus: Psychedelic and progressive rock band from Zagreb Seven Moldy Figs will start the party, after which Circus goes Irish – and yes, they’ll have Irish beer to serve you.
Pivarij Pecado: Live blues music from LP & The Singles and Irish beer – show begins at 9 pm.
Bokamorra: Eat, drink and get lucky at Bokamorra…
Is it too early for a Guinness and a shot of Jameson? Happy St Patrick’s Day!
