The spring and summer edition of the most important fashion event, Montura Split Fashion Destination, will be taking place on May 28th and 29th at an interesting new location – in the hall of the Split shipyard.
While Croatian designers begin finalizing their collections to display at this year’s Montura Fashion Destination, Split’s shipyard workers have begun regulating a most original catwalk – using steel plates commonly used in the construction of ships! This shipyard (and these steel plates) are also responsible for constructing the ‘doors of Venice’ (translated to steel flood gates) to prevent the city of Venice from flooding. Montura’s runway may make for one of the most exciting fashion shows yet!
Organizers at Montura and Kanal 5 ensure a fashion rich evening on the first day, with 14 designers showing their collections and how to dress them throughout this fluttering fashion season. Surrendering fully to fashion, the audience will enjoy the creations of significant, well-known, and new designers including: Fashion Studio Arileo, Fashion House Mak, Buba Bu by Goran Milaković, Callegari Italian School of Fashion and Design Ana Bo by Ana Bogdan, Ana Kujundzic, Karin Design by Catherine Cvitković, Eleonora Tomic, Ledenko, Kruno Jendrijev, Stolnik, Martin Felja, and Zoran Aragovic. Many will also surely intrigue in Italian designer Alberto Cacciari who will soon open a boutique in Split.
Along with the designers, day two brings in a plethora of the top hairdressers throughout Dalmatia. Participating salons include Ritual (Nedjeljko Lešina), Ivana (Ivanka Radic), Alba Rosa (Senada Vidakovic), Efekt (Ornela Domic), Beauty Centar Chiara (Jasna Peričić), Gizela (Karolina Ivkovic), Tip Top (Linda Novakovic), Sananda (Joško Tafra), Elis (Elida Markovic), Josip Art Hair (Josip Lijić) and Toni (Toni Plančić). We will see fashion fully merge with the creative techniques and hairstyles of today, which should really keep this Splićani crowd on their toes!
