A new exhibition will be staged at Gallery Kula this week. Curated by Ivo Šimat Banov and Dalibor Prančević, this Thursday, August 18, Tobias Putrih’s exhibition “Pa, da, da, da,.” will be presented. The opening begins at 19.30h.
Tobias Putrih was born in Kranj, Slovenia in 1972 but currently lives and works between Cambridge, Massachusetts and Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Putrih graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in 1997. He then studied at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf, Germany from 1997-98.
Large installations by Tobias Putrih are listed in Espace315 at the Centre Pompidou, Paris and the Capella MACBA in Barcelona – all in collaboration with filmmaker Runa Islam in Gallery Civica of Modena and the Kunsthaus, Zurich.
He has participated in the group exhibitions TRACK, S.M.A.K., Ghent; Forms of Resistance, VanAbbe Museum, Eindhoven; Manifesta 4, Frankfurt and the 29th Sao Paulo Biennale.
In 2007 he represented Slovenia at the Venice Biennale and his works are on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Luxembourg; and the Museum Boijmans Van Beunigen, Rotterdam and many other art institutions.

Saturday: 9-13
Sunday: closed
