The traditional Sv. Križ celebration is held from May 2-3, 2017.
Hordes of townspeople and their guests gathered in the historic neighborhood of Veli Varoš last night to begin the celebrations of Sv. Križ, reports Dalmacija Danas on May 3, 2017.
The first night’s festivities went into the early morning hours with the smell of sardines and crisp wine filling the sweet spring air. Here’s a look at the fun-filled evening through the lens of Robert Pleško.
The folk festival began at Uvodićeva širina around 19:30 with an exhibition of paintings and motifs by Split artist Ani Kalajžić.
And then came the food…
And the wine…
The program then continued with the Split Majorettes and an entertainment program which included klapa Friži, mixed klapa Filip Dević, Šetači group, and DJ Pajo.
On Wednesday, May 3rd at 20:30, the program will return with the Split Majorettes, klapa MUP Sveti Mihovil, klapa Žrnovnica, group Barbary and DJ Jake.
The festival is sponsored by the Tourist Board of Split, the City of Split, and GK Varoš.
