The Croatian Navy was formed in 1991 from the Yugoslav Army during the Croatian War of Independence and the breakup of Yugoslavia. This weekend, the Croatan Navy celebrates 26 years.
The City of Split will celebrate 26 years of the Croatian Navy on Sunday, September 17 and Monday, September 18, 2017, reports Dalmacija Danas on September 15, 2017.
The celebration will commence on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at 19:30 with an opening ceremony on the Riva including the HRM Klapa and Orchestra.
The central ceremony with the deployment of HRM units will take place on Monday, September 18, 2017, on the West Coast, when HRK will open their ships for the citizens of Split to visit.
On both Sunday, September 17, 2017, and Monday, September 18, 2017, from 16:00-19:00 on the West Coast, citizens will be able to visit the warship RTOP-41 “Vukovar”, the rescue boat SB-73 “Faust Vrančić”, the minehunter LM-51 “Korčula” and the patrol boat OB-01 “Novigrad”.
On the same day in Makarska, from 10:30 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00, citizens will have the opportunity to visit the warship DBM-81 “Cetina”.
