Split in September: A Look at What’s Ahead Next Month

With the busiest summer months just about behind us, there is so much for us to enjoy in September!

Many summer events are still ongoing in September, and with the July and August crowds easing next month, we think that there is a lot for you to look forward to. 

Culture

– The Split Summer Colors event will be ongoing through September 27, 2017. Here you can find music acts, dances, and the beauty of Croatian culture. 

– Ceremonial Changing of Diocletian’s Guard will continue through September 12, 2017, at Peristyle from 12pm. 

Food:

– Olive Oil Tastings at UJE Oil Bar every day at 11 am

– Split Food Festival from September 1-2, 2017, at the old Hajduk Stadium (Stari Plac)

– “Wine on Wednesdays, Wine is Life” will continue on Wednesdays in September. 

Exhibitions:

– Exhibition of Siniša Majkus at Galerija Kula through September 3, 2017.

– Exhibition of Stjepan Gračan at Galerija Kula (no end date listed)

– Lili Gluić: ‘Oh bird, choose a slice of sky above my town’ at Diocletian’s Gallery through September 13, 2017.

– Darko Skrobonja: ‘Sade Sati’ at Salon Galić through September 10, 2017. 

– Lili Gluić: ‘Crazy animals of Dalmatia’ at City Library Marko Marulić, beginning September 25, 2017.

– “Live Museum in Split” which aims to revive the times of ancient Rome, giving a unique experience to citizens and tourists. The live museum will be held through September 20, 2017, at Ul. krajla Tomislav 15.

Music

– MAG Festival comes to an end on September 3, 2017, held at the City Museum of Split. Here you can enjoy renown chamber ensembles from Croatia and abroad as well as young Split musicians.

– Evo Ruke! will continue at Dardin park through September 10, 2017, with new concerts by local and Croatian bands each night.

Film:

– Split Film Festival, which is the oldest international annual film/media event in the country (founded in 1996), will be held from September 9-16, 2017.

Sports:

– Adriatic Marathon hosted by Swim Club Jadran on September 1, 2017, at PK Jadran

– Laser Standard World Championships, known as one of the most prestigious championships in the sailing world, will be held by Sailing Club Mornar and the City of Split from September 12-30, 2017.
