‘Restaurant Week’ begins next Friday 13th – 22nd October 2017 around Croatia, here is a look at what Split has in store.
Restaurant Week is a bi-annual event that takes place pre- and post-season around Croatia to encourage locals to dine at some top restaurants. There are more than 70 restaurants taking place around the country, offering a beautiful 3-course menu for only 100 kuna (approx. 13 euros).
The event has become extremely popular among locals as often these restaurants’ menus are geared towards tourists and are at the higher end of the price spectrum. This initiative allows everyone to enjoy a beautiful 3-course menu or fine dining experience at a fraction of the price – up to 50% in most cases. To be honest, I am surprised set-menus aren’t something that happens more often as this is something even Michelin-starred restaurants offer for better value in quieter times. But, one step at a time when it comes to Croatia, so for now let’s get excited about food!
This year the week runs from next Friday 13th – 22nd October, the website says that reservations for these restaurants and menus opens tomorrow 6th October; however, we just tried to book Uje restaurant and were informed that they are already fully-booked, so it seems some may have gotten a head-start, we advise to book ASAP.
The Restaurants in Split taking part this year are:
Le Meridien Lav “Conlemani Restaurant”
And, if you fancy a short drive to Omiš and lunch or dinner on the gorgeous Cetina River – Kaštil Slanica, is also taking part in the initiative.
