Here is the summer program for 2016:

14 June, Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Croatian National Theatre, Trg Gaje Bulata 1: Dance multimedia project DEEP DISH / Liquid loft (Austria)

“Dance multimedia project DEEP DISH is the final part of The Perfect Garden Series in collaboration with Michel Blazy (FR). A dinner party turns into an adventurous ride through the dimensions of macro- and microcosms. The live-images of a handheld camera, directed by the performers, lead through bizarre parallel worlds of organic objects. Methods of film-making, along with acoustic contortions, evoke metaphors of baroque gardens, earthly delights and their inevitable collapse. A society driven by longing and curiosity, flamboyantly but also callously celebrates its own transience in the manifold dimensions of reality, blown up on a big screen. In this still-life, all movement and human behavior is inexorably absorbed by the opulence of nature.”

22 June, Wednesday at 8 p.m. at MKC Split Ulica Slobode bb: GLACE! Dance and new circus performances on ice, Trafic de Styles (France)

“Claire Bournet and Sébastien Lefrançois have met to create a performance at the crossroads of respective art and universe. They have in common an ice-skater childhood in which they both have memory of creative disobedience. Once the lesson was over, they tried, played, experimented new figures, new sensations, out of the box, out of the rules.  They are convinced that creation means emancipation from esthetic frontiers. To embody his writing, he has made up a team with seven performers coming from many artistic origins – hip hop, circus, theater, dance, figure skating and ice dance.”

30 June, Tuesday at 8 p.m., at City Youth Theatre, Trg Republike 1: FOLK ACTS / De facto, ADU Zagreb &  ZKM

“This perofrmance is a project of a team work made by Saša Božić and Petra Hrašćanec especially prepared for the actress Nataša Dangubić and bar singer Višnja Vitas. These two performers on the stage contrast different medias, different experiences and inner worlds that comes out from their own work. Folk Acts do not consider the moralisation of what influence turbo folk culture could have had, neither do they want to colonise turbo folk music into dedicated, intellectual space of theatrical black boxes. This performance opposes the emotional effect that provokes the theatre and musical performance and it calls into question the safety of the territory of both types of art.”

8 July, Thursday at 8 p.m. at City Puppet Theatre Tončićeva 1: Dance performance ANATOMY OF A CAT

“The most particular thing in this project is the creation and application of specific technique that happens through synthesis of contemporary dance technique and study of the anatomy of animals. The emphasis is placed on the possibilities of the anatomical changes of the architecture of the body. Dealing with a different body through the anatomy of a cat demands a very deep kinaesthetic awareness. The inner directions of  the motion and physical connections as well as the area of the of-balance and suspension that changes the perception of the space and  achieves the increase of the value of the dynamics of motion. Structuring the different body escapes the absolute control of the interpretation  and every preformance realises the possibility of a new viewing.”
