Today in Split measured air temperatures of 27°C and a sea temperature of 22°C.
Though the beginning of this week saw unsteady weather with a noticeable drop in air temperatures, we know by now that in May, nothing is predictable – and many of us were even surprised to see that Biokovo had a brief stint of snow (and Vis saw hail)! The weather stabilized gradually later in the week, and today smiles stretched across our faces when the above-high air temperature returned to the Dalmatian capital, reports Dalmacija Danas on May 19, 2018.
Daily temperatures in Dalmatia ranged between 24°C to a very hot 28°C on Saturday – and Sunday and Monday will be even warmer, with the highest daily temperatures in Dalmatia reaching (or even slightly exceeding) 30°C.
The sea also came back up to a warmer surface temperature, ranging from 19°C in Zadar to 23°C in the Dubrovnik area.
On Saturday, Split saw air temperatures around 27°C, and sea temperatures just five degrees behind at 22°C. One thing is for sure: this weekend weather was perfect for a beach day – and not only the bravest ones were up for a swim.
Perhaps the biggest delight of the day was to see the welcomed return of picigin to Bačvice beach – with more than a few picigin-enthusiasts out to play.
