After the completion of Movember’s “no shave November” movement which saw the participation of Zoran Šprajc, LAB Brewery launches their newest beer this week.
Barba, Split’s first craft beer, celebrates its second birthday with the introduction of its most potent brew, the Imperial IPA (8% ALC), which recently became famous at the Zagreb Craft Beer Festival. The restaurant Corto Maltese will host the promotion of the new beer on December 7, 2017.
The new Imperial beer, which joins Barba’s Pale Ale and Englez brands, is the result of the cooperation and friendship between New Zealand brewer Nick Calder-Scholes and LAB Split.
The Imperial IPA has 8% alcohol and 70 IBU of bitterness with 28 grams of hops per liter.
“This is the first time we’ve worked on such a strong beer – we went to make the best beer in the world, and we did it! We tried to make a beer that we would not be ashamed to present at any World Craft Festival. This was confirmed by professions at the recent festival in Zagreb, where British brewers from the UK also attended. This beer is our pride and the result of long and hard work and effort,” said Siniša Anđelić, owner of LAB Split.

Apart from all of the beer, Corto Maltese will also be preparing the “Grand Plate” for the Imperial promotion including prosciutto, goat, sheep, and cow cheeses, Italian mortadella, homemade sausages, real pancetta, homemade jams, and homemade bread.
