It’s that time again!
It has been a few months since we last visited TripAdvisor’s top 10 restaurants in Split, and more specifically, we last visited the list at the beginning of the season on June 19, 2017. You can find our story here.
With the summer season nearing its end, we thought it would be a good time to revisit everyone’s most loved (and hated) travel website to see exactly how tourists are rating the restaurants in Split today. And what did we find? Well, this time, the list is full of surprises.
To be fair, seven of the restaurants in the top 10 last time have remained on the list since the last time we checked, but there are some newcomers surely shaking up the plot.
Here’s a look at TripAdvisor’s top 10 restaurants in Split on August 22, 2017.
1. Konoba Nikola: The leader of the pack and a restaurant that has kept the number one spot consistently for over a year now, Konoba Nikola is located in Stobreč, just 15-minutes outside of the center of Split. Known for classic Dalmatian fare, locally sourced ingredients, and the freshest possible seafood, this one has proved to be a keeper. Konoba Nikola has been reviewed 484 times.
2. Wine & Cheese Bar Paradox: Back in the number two spot they were secure in a year ago, Wine & Cheese Bar Paradox has been enjoying their new location in Split, in the former Paradigma restaurant space. Paradox was kicked out of number two by the wraps of Sexy Cow back in June, but we’re pretty sure they’ll remain safe and sound in this slot through the season’s end. Wine & Cheese Bar Paradox has been reviewed 980 times.
3. Kasa Grill & Bar: A newcomer to the list! Kasa Grill & Bar, located in Stobreč just like our trusty number one, has twisted this top 10 list by ranking in the third position. Known for, well, a great grill, Kasa also boasts incredible decor and friendly prices. Kasa Grill & Bar has been reviewed 173 times.
4. Villa Spiza: Villa Spiza has held their number four spot since June, remaining in the top five best in Split for the last year. It is no surprise that Villa Spiza is a steady favorite for foodies in Split – their home-style Dalmatian cooking makes you feel as if you’re in grandma’s kitchen all over again. Villa Spiza has been reviewed 993 times.
5. To Je Tako: And yet another newcomer to the top 10, To Je Tako is is certainly the only Mexican food restaurant on the list. Having opened last summer across the street from their sister establishment To Je To, To Je Tako moved locations this year, transforming their new space around the corner from Peristyle into the ultimate Mexican cantina. This is To Je Tako’s first time in the top 10. The restaurant has been reviewed 228 times.
6. Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar: Consistently in the top 10 is Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar, a trusted favorite among foodies and “wineos” since their opening in 2013. Apart from offering stellar breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a charcuterie board that tingles taste buds from a mile away, Zinfandel is one of the few places on the list that has live music. Zinfandel has been reviewed 1,126 times.
7. Sexy Cow: Everyone’s go-to wrap joint which held the number two position in June has fallen to number seven. But not to worry, I don’t think this will affect anyone’s dedication to this cult establishment. If you’re a lover of homemade tortillas, juicy meats, fresh veggies and all kinds of tangy sauces, well, this is the place for you. Sexy Cow has been reviewed 459 times.
8. Dvor: Another respected establishment that is a regular in the top 10 is Dvor, located just past Bačvice Beach. Although the restaurant has moved down a few spots in their ranking since June (blame the newcomers to the list), Dvor’s outdoor setting is one that can’t be beaten. And have you tried their desserts? Dvor has been reviewed 1,094 times.
9. Kantun Paulina: Talk about a plot twist, Kantun Paulina has wiggled their way into the top 10! A classic fast food joint that sells quite simply the best čevaps in Split, Paulina is known as a place where the locals gather, from the young to the old. While their menu also offers other fast food treats, you’ll want to stick with the čevapčići sandwich. It’s really that good. Kantun Paulina has been reviewed 385 times.
10. Bokeria Kitchen & Bar: This is no surprise, and Bokeria has remained in the top 10 for as long as I can remember (or at least most definitely since August 2016). While they have slipped one spot from number nine to ten this time around, Bokeria will always boast a bustling atmosphere and full tables, without fail, all year round. Bokeria has been reviewed 1,953 times.
