On Saturday at noon, the Children’s Choir Srdelice helped raise the Porin flag in Split in the presence of the Executive Director of Porin Tomislav Mrduljaš, music diva Zorica Kondža, and Mayor of Split Ivo Baldasar. The brass band ’Zvonimir’ from Solin and the Children’s Choir Srdelice wore Porin t-shirts and sang throughout the center of Split, accompanied by applause. Porin has officially begun.
“The raising of the Porin flag officially opens Porin week here in Split, and we want the city to be filled with live music this week. This is a week of Croatian music which will be marked by a number of events in Split that will lead to the final awards ceremony at Spaladium Arena,” said Mrduljaš for Split.hr on March 12, 2017.
Zorica Kondža, who was in attendance for the official opening of Porin, was not surprised that the famous music awards would be held in Split for the third time. “Porin is being held in Split for the third time, which is normal because many musicians and some of the best singers have come out of our city,” she said. Kondža is also nominated for “Best Live Album”.
The organizers this year have prepared numerous events which will be an excellent overture to the final music awards on March 17th at Spaladium Arena.
Over the weekend, the famous Split fish market held the first of several events for Porin, hosting the traditional city party called “Disco Peškarija” with DJ Peace, BEATS’n’SAX and Ivana Škvorc on saxophone.
On Wednesday, March 15th at 11:00, Hotel Cornaro will host a press conference titled “Third Year of Porin in Split”, and at 19:00 on Pjaca visitors will be able to enjoy a performance by Jukebox.
