A Much Needed Update for Bačvice Beach?

Around 15 cubic meters of concrete will arrive at Bačvice beach, but there is no reason to panic.

The famous Bačvice Beach in Split will be getting a small makeover, and we think our readers will be quite fond of the new digs. On the stretch of Bačvice known as “Željezničar”, concrete will be poured onto the old layer currently there – a serious effort in sprucing up the place, reports Dalmatinkski Portal on January 30, 2017. “Željezničar” is the area where beach club “Beach&Booze” is located.

Nikša Ivanovic – CEO of concessionary company ‘Bačvice plaža’ – revealed that there has been no investment in that part of the beach for nearly three decades, and therefore his company has decided to invest.

“We will remove around 10 centimeters of the old concrete – the part that is completely collapsed – and change it only with new concrete. In addition, we will change the dilapidated and rotted iron steps leading into the sea with stainless steel – and a combination of mahogany below. We will also plant eight tamarisk trees,” said Ivanovic.

The 15 cubic meters of concrete is in the area of 300 square meters, and the investment is worth 200,000 kuna.
