Wine on Wednesdays returns this year under a new motto “Wine is Life”.
In an effort to promote the wines of Dalmatia while bringing together the wine lovers of the region, “Vino u sridu” or “Wine on Wednesdays” rewards the efforts of the winemakers who are trying to break away from oblivion. Wine on Wednesdays pushes to promote local wine varieties and winemakers by helping them tell their story to a wider audience.
After a successful season last year in cooperation with the City Museum of Split, Wine on Wednesdays continues their story this year, giving visitors the opportunity to taste the wines of Dalmatia, meet the winemakers, and buy their wines at promotional prices.
The new year also brings a new motto, and this year’s event will follow the theme “Wine is Life”. As expected, an exciting and full program has been prepared.
Once again in cooperation with the City Museum of Split, the event will be held every Wednesday from April 19 to October 25, 2017.
Besides the event being held at the City Museum of Split, this year’s event will also be promoted throughout 10 different Split restaurants.
Each week, the restaurants will feature a different winemaker and participate as hosts for the promotion of wine producers while complimenting the wine tastings with delicacies from their kitchen. The presentations will also be enriched by olive oil tastings from the visiting wineries.
Winemaker Kuzmani from Kaštel Novi will open the series on Wednesday, April 19th at the City Museum of Split. From Monday, April 24th the series will move forward with the participating restaurants.
Through this large-scale project, the organizers hope to consolidate the story of the vineyards of Dalmatia and the forgotten indigenous grape varieties while connecting the history, culture, and wine in a unique way that further enriches the tourist offer of Split.
