Celebrate Christmas Eve in Style with Paradox Oysters and Bubbly

Total Croatia News

While some restaurateurs may be taking it easy this winter after a bumper season in Split this summer, one team bucking that trend is Paradox Hospitality.

Split’s luxury restaurant Paradigma has of course upped sticks to spend the winter as a pop-up restaurant in Zagreb, and the Croatian capital’s gourmet scene has embraced the new Dalmatian arrival with gusto, and I enjoyed hearing the editor of new gastro magazine StoryGourmet telling me all about her amazing Paradigma experience over a coffee recently in Zagreb.

I met owner Zoran at the airport coming down from Zagreb at the weekend, and he seems to be a regular commuter between the two cities at the moment. There is plenty going on in Split as well, and the Paradox kucica at the end of Riva has been a popular destination in this year’s Advent in Split. There is always something a little different, and here is Zoran demonstrating how to open a bottle of sparkling wine with a sword at last year’s Advent. Pretty impressive, and hardly a drop spilled.
