Game of Thrones in Split: Nudity and Media Attention

Split and its vicinity turned in the last few days into a Game of Thrones site. After a few days of shooting in nearby Žrnovnica, the whole crew moved to Split, where they filmed scenes in the basement of Diocletian’s Palace. Since it’s a huge production, the whole parking lot on Riva was reserved for their vehicles, and security people guard the entrance in the western part of the basement. After this, the circus will move on to a Klis Fortress.

In the meantime, both local and international media are extensively covering the shooting of the HBO series. First, some partly nude photos were published on Split Portal  and then the Daily Mail ran a big story with a huge gallery from Žrnovnica.

This way Game of Thrones filming became very effective propaganda for Split. Who knows, maybe in the near future the city will welcome first tourists on Game of Thrones location tour, as happened in Dubrovnik.
