This building, located right across the street from the Botanical garden, is one of the most beautiful buildings in Zagreb. Formerly the National and University Library, it currently houses the Croatian State Archives. Built in 1913, this is the most beautiful example of Croatian Art Nouveau.
Every detail, both inside and out, was carefully designed, so you can see owls on the roof, symbolizing the building’s former educational purpose. Once you go inside, Tiffany reading lamps on long wooden tables will take you back in time.
You can visit this exquisite building Mon – Fri, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
