June the 13th, 2023 – The Croatian RASCO company, which is headquartered in Kalinovac in Krizevci-Koprivnica County, is now completing its newest green investment.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Croatian RASCO company isn’t your ordinary utility equipment factory and it is currently completing its latest green investment.

An 800,000 euro project

The project is called “Increasing the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency”, and is worth 800,000 euros in total. RASCO applied for co-financing from the European Fund for Regional Development back in 2021, and the right to non-reimbursable support in the amount of 379,000 euros was successfully realised.

Solar power

As stated in the company’s press release, the largest share of the project’s costs, as well as savings in delivered energy, which will be realised by this project, refers to the installation of a solar photovoltaic power plant of 324 kWh on the roof of the production hall in Kalinovac. This is the second photovoltaic power plant in which the Croatian RASCO company has invested over the last five years. Thanks to this, it now meets 70 percent of its own electricity needs from sustainable solar energy.

Enormous savings

This project, which is now nearing completion, will result in total annual savings of 566,205 kWh of delivered energy. Of this, the new solar power plant will annually produce 446,287 kWh of renewable energy, replacing traditional energy sources, and the remaining 119,918 kWh of savings will be achieved through energy efficiency measures. Overall, it is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by a massive 172 tonnes per year.
