Importanne Galleria will become a new business, fashion and gastro destination, while Zagreb’s most popular hostel got an annexe with themed rooms honouring traditional Zagreb crafts.
The renovated centre will offer a number of new spaces, and the main feature of all new stores will be a contemporary interior design which follows the latest global trends, Poslovni dnevnik reports on October 5, 2017.
Importanne Grupa has started the renovation process this June, and major reorganisation and interior redesign processes are underway. The new concept will create a more open space, resulting in a light atmosphere and a modern interior design.

This will be Importanne’s first makeover in 20 years, and it will be transformed from a small retail and business centre to a business centre, with a focus on business, fashion and gastro destination. The owner’s idea is to revive this location between Iblerov Square and Martićeva and Vlaška Streets and create a recognisable business zone with quality office spaces and shops.
Changes will be introduced to Importanne Galleria’s four-storey garage as well, with a new and more advanced parking system. The construction works in the interior should be finished by November this year. The biggest change will be introduced to the -1 level, where a food court will be added, as well as an a la carte restaurant which will seat over 100 people, with a varied gastro offer. Dm (Drogerie market) will also become bigger, covering a 500 m2 space.

The renovated centre will offer a number of new spaces, and the main feature of all new stores will be a contemporary interior design which follows the latest global trends. More than 1,000 m2 will be transformed into modern business spaces, and visitors will be happy to know that they will be able to go bowling in the centre as well.
The persons behind the project are Nives Zovko, Danijela Grmoja and Otto Klasić, while the interior was designed by Ars tema’s architects, Zrinka Grosek, Mirta Rusan and Lada Vlainić
While Importanne Galeria found its inspiration in contemporary design, Hostel Swanky Mint decided to do the opposite, and honour traditional Zagreb crafts in their new annexe with themed rooms, Buro 24/7 reports on October 5, 2017.
The new rooms are called Urar (Watchmaker), Šuster (Shoemaker), Brijačnica (Barber Shop), Šeširi (Hats), Šnajderaj (Clothing Repair Shop).

“The style of the rooms is a bit different than the rest of the hostel, known for its industrial style and reused materials. The new annexe is bigger, the equipment is of higher standards, but the distinct Swanky style is still there,” Tina Sarajlić, Hostel’s PR said for Buro 24/7.
The design and the theme were created by Irena Vojnović and Ana Čeović of Materija architecture studio, the wallpapers were designed by graphic designer and DJ Ivan Oberan, and other details were painted by Lapo Lapo – Modul 8 art studio and Bare.
It’s great to see young and creative Zagreb-based people working together and creating something new and fresh, but still reminiscent of the past, kudos, guys (and girls)!
