SDP and HDZ Reach Agreement for Commission on Agrokor

Lauren Simmonds

It was confirmed earlier this morning that an agreement between HDZ and SDP had finally been reached.

As Poslovni Dnevnik reports on the 6th of October, 2017, after a long, long wait, HDZ and SDP have finally come to an agreement on setting up a parliamentary inquiry commission for Agrokor.

N1 brings the much anticipated news that a decision has also been reached on the composition of the body of that commission, which should clarify the political backdrop of the story surrounding the ongoing situation in Agrokor.

HDZ’s members of the investigative parliamentary commission for Agrokor will be Josip Borić, Ante Babić, Gvozdana Perić and Marija Jelkovac. Stjepan Čuraj will be from HNS, while SDP’s people are expected to be Gordan Maras and Franko Vidović, as well Ivan Lovrinović from ”Promijenimo Hrvatsku”. N1 unofficially states that MOST’s people are as yet unknown.

It is assumed that Franko Vidović will be the president of the commission, however, as he told N1: “I can’t confirm or deny whether or not I’m the president of the investigative commission.”

Vidović confirmed that the decision had indeed been reached this morning during a media appearance, however, no details have been revealed. What will take place, the composition, and deadlines for the start and finish of the work remain entirely unknown.
