Zagreb Fire Department’s post on Facebook shows that people are still reckless with fire

With fires raging across the country and firefighters risking their lives on a daily basis, you’d think people would be more careful with fire, especially during summer months.

However, yesterday’s post by Vatrogasna Postrojba Zagreb (Zagreb Fire Department) on Facebook shows that many people are still reckless when it comes to fire.

“Yesterday, on July 16, we got a phone call from worried citizens at Fabkovićeva Street because the building was filled with smoke. We were (a bit) surprised by what we found…

Dear fellow citizens, just as fire is not efficient in getting rid of hornets, a “smoke screen” that you intended to create by burning newspapers in a bowl will not help you chase away mosquitoes. The only ones who will be chased away are your neighbours, who called us, the police and an ambulance last night.

A flyswatter costs only HRK 4. Your #193 boys.”

Please, be careful with fire.
