One of the most magical summer events in Zagreb starts today; don’t miss the chance to explore and learn more about the charming courtyards of Zagreb’s Upper Town, which are open for visitors every day from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. until 23rd of July.  The stunning facades and old builings are a great backdrop to enjoy great live music, have few cold drinks or grab a tasty snack. The entrance to all courtyards is free.

2) Savska Days

This weekend, Vintage Industrial Bar and Kavez will host a two-day event featuring concerts by the rock legend, Boris Babarović, which will perform Zagreb evergreens on Friday, and Ervin Baučić, an opera and rock singer and actor, and Branko Bogunović Pif, an exceptional guitarist and a member of some of the most famous Croatian rock bands (Animatori, Drugi Način i Plava Trava Zaborava) on Saturday. The event starts at 6 p.m., and the concert at 9 p.m. There will aslo be an exhibition, workshops and a small fair where you can buy beautiful handicrafts, old vinyl records, handmade jewelry and T-shirts. The aim of the event is to improve the image of Savska Street as a dull grey street which is always congested by traffic.

3) Strossmartre – Summer on Štros

Take a stroll down the romantic Strossmayer Promenade, near the Lotršćak Tower, and enjoy a wide range of music, film, art and entertainment on offer. The programme is daily, starting before midday and ending late in the evening hours. You can enjoy the Strossmartre festival all summer until the 3rd of September. 4) Zagreb Picnic

Looking for a pleasant getaway from the hot concrete jungle of the city where you can grab a bite and sip refreshing drinks while listening to some cool summer jams played by the DJ? Maybe you’ve forgotten all about this lovely event taking place every Saturday until September from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. on the field by the second lake in Maksimir Park. There is also a good selection of board games and sports equipment to choose from as well as an open-air library for bookworms and a small corner for kids!

5) Pop Up Summer Garden & European Film Festival

Another lovely place surrounded by woods where you can cool down and sip delicious cocktails is Pop Up Summer Garden in Tuškanac, where you can also listen to various Croatian and international DJs and acoustic bands. The garden is right next to the open-air movie theater Tuškanac, where you can catch a free movie until July 16th. All screenings start at 9.30 p.m.

6) Bundek Summer Stage

If you haven’t already attended one of many great free concerts at Bundek Lake, this is your last chance! The beautiful setting of the Bundek Summer Stage will see a gospel concert on Friday by our excellent vocalist Ivana Galić and her band The Southland (with the accompanying band  Ladies), who will prepare a programme titled I believe – in honour of Mahalia Jackson and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. On Saturday, you can enjoy a traditional Portuguese music – fado – performed by Mascara quartet from Slovenia.

Both concerts start at 9 p.m.
