Le Dîner en Blanc is an elegant large-scale picnic that has been held in over 70 cities, to the delight of tens of thousands of people who participate in each picnic. The cities hosting Dîner en Blanc have included New York, Paris, Toronto, London, Chicago, and many more.
Founded by François Pasquier and his close friends in Paris almost 30 years ago, the picnic takes place in a secret location, which is revealed at the very last minute. The main goal is to promote friendship and have fun while sharing a gourmet meal in a chic and elegant outdoor setting, dressed in white, admiring the atmosphere of the traffic-free environment around you.
Once you sign up for the waiting list or receive an invitation, you arrive at a designated departure point with all the necessary materials, and then you go to the secret location by chartered bus or organized public transportation. At the end of the night you take all your belongings with you, so the site is left as clean as you found it.
All guests must arrive in pairs, because the invitation is valid for two people, and they have to be dressed head-to-toe in white. They also have to bring a square folding-table and two white chairs; a white picnic basket and/or bag including a gourmet meal for two, a white tablecloth and cloth-napkins, cutlery, dishware, and glassware; and a garbage bag.
