British Musician Ghostpoet Coming to Zagreb in February

Total Croatia News

One of the most prominent British musicians will be performing at Močvara on February 24, 2018.

Ghostpoet, a London-based musician, considered one of the most original authors on the British music scene in the past decade, is coming to Zagreb, Muzika.hr reports on September 28, 2017.

Ghostpoet will be performing at Močvara on February 24, 2018, starting at 9 p.m.

The prominent and forward-thinking artist’s baritone has earned him the title of a musician ahead of his time, which many have tried to classify as hip-hop, trip-hop, alt-rock, or indie-rock. The fairest description of his style would be that he has no single style – instead of sticking to one genre, he creates music that suits his mood and environment, proving with each new album that he is more audacious, creative and innovative.

Ghostpoet (or Obaro Ejimiwe, which is his real name) has four albums, two of which have been nominated for the Mercury Prize – Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam (2011) and Shedding Skin (2015). All of his albums have received critical acclaim, as well as approval from magazines such as NME, MOJO, the Independent and the Guardian. He collaborated with Massive Attack on their Come Near Me single, featured on The Spoils album.

His debut album, Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam was full of electronic beats, while Shedding Skin contained more alt-rock songs. His new album, Dark Days & Canapés, is set to come out this year, and the Immigrant Boogie single has already marked a new post-punk era revolution in Ghostpoet’s style.

Tickets are available online at eventim or at Rockmark (Berislavićeva 13). Fans will be able to purchase the first 100 tickets for HRK 100 until October 13, and for HRK 119 after that.
