European Music Incubator presents 7 musicians and 4 live acts.
After Tallinn and Liverpool, European Music Incubator workshop will take place in Zagreb, on November 14, 2017, in Pločnik (Međimurska 21), starting at 19:00. Seven musicians, which were chosen to travel, learn and develop new business models outside traditional pop music framework, will present themselves to Croatian audience by holding talks as well as live performances.
European Music Incubator is an experimental training program intended for emerging musicians looking for ways to develop their entrepreneurial spirit, reach a wider audience and diversify their revenue streams. The EMI aims to develop support programmes and encourage cooperation between music and other creative sectors at local and European level. All the organizations of the partnership are working throughout the music value-chain and are in charge of connecting musicians from five developing creative sectors by organising workshops, where their pilot projects will be developed and implemented during 2018. Topics range from music and brands, soundtracks for movies and videogames, cultural tourism and digital teaching.
Among 133 applied, two of the selected seven musicians are from Croatia – Marko Jovanović and Sara Renar. Marko Jovanović is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist with an M.A. in music. He has composed music for numerous shows, organised music workshops and produced music for the official video of “Festival Visualia – Lighting Giants” in Pula. He will be discussing digital teaching and music at European Music Incubator workshops.
Sara Renar is a Porin award-winning singer-songwriter from Zagreb which has already released three studio albums. She has won Porin prize for the vocal performance category in 2015. Over the past three years, Sara has performed around 250 concerts throughout the region. Her third studio album titled “Tišina” (Silence) was released in 2016 and received only the best reviews in the past year. Sara’s topic at the EMI is about music and brands.
