Get to know Zagreb on Saturdays, September 2 – October 28.

Citizens of Zagreb can learn more about their city during free tours of the city, September 2 – October 28, starting at 4 and 5 p.m. in front of the Tourist Information Centre at Ban Jelačić Square.

The two-hour educational tours are divided into three groups that you can choose from:

  • Zagrebarium: a costumed tour of the city with Iva Silla of Secret Zagreb, which we wrote about (and loved) here. You’ll get to know the 19th c. Zagreb and hear stories about the city’s development, Croatian inventors and alchemists. Starts at 4 p.m.
  • Green Zagreb (Zeleni Zagreb): This tour will take you through the city’s green oasis – Lenucci’s Horseshoe, to celebrate 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. Starts at 4 p.m.
  • Zagreb Tour: This tour will show you the most famous Zagreb landmarks. Starts at 5 p.m.

You can apply on Friday, a day before the tours, by calling 099/2199-987, from 9 a.m, until the groups are full.

The tours are in Croatian, but that’s even better – it’ll give you a chance to practice your Croatian language skills and learn some useful touristic phrases to impress your friends when they visit.
