If you’re interested in virtual reality and physics, you might be interested in a lecture which will take place at Zagreb’sTechnical Museum Nikola Tesla on May 24, at 6 p.m. Professor Dr. Sc. Davor Horvatić from the Faculty of Science will speak about Physics of the Brain and Virtual Reality.

Physiology, aided by chemistry and physics, has shown us that neurones are not simple. Before we had discovered that a single neurone could do complex calculations, it was believed that the brain’s computing power stems from a great number of neurones and that was the assumption artificial development started with. The specials mechanism of transmitting signals from one neurone to another has given our brains an incredible level of flexibility of data processing. Neurones have an even more beautiful connection with the creation of life on Earth. The neurone evolved from a simple cell within a multicellular organism, using existing electrochemical processes. These first cells transformed into specialised cells which enable us to perceive the world around us. The lecture will cover the interesting topic of reality processing and talk about the possibility of developing technologies similar to those in the film Matrix.

You can buy the 15-kuna tickets at the Museum’s ticket office during opening hours:

Tue – Fri: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
