Nikola Tesla Technical Museum is putting on a series of interesting lectures on the subject of space.

Space Week in Zagreb will be held from Wednesday, October 4th to Friday, October 6th, in the Planetarium of Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb, reports Zagreb.info on October 2, 2017. The Space week will include many interesting lectures on the subject of space and universe.

A popular science lecture by Ante Radonić entitled ‘Space Age, Part 1’( Svemirska era čovječanstva) will be held at the Museum’s Planetarium on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 6 pm. The lecture is open to the public. The second part of that lecture ‘Space Age, Part 2′ will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 6 pm. The Space Age began exactly 60 years ago on the 4th of October, 1957, with the launch of  Sputnik 1, the first artificial Earth satellite. To this day, over five thousand launches of various different spacecrafts have been carried out. The lectures will recall some historical space missions and ask the question:  How much are we dependent on space technology today? This progress has enabled us to better understand where we are in the universe and what kind of processes are playing out far away from us. Finally, visitors will be able to ask questions about space and space flight.

A popular science lecture by Zvonimir Drvar entitled ‘Getting to Know the Universe’ will be held at the Museum’s Planetarium on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 6 pm. The lecture is open to the public. The lecture will be about the most important discoveries that have helped us understand and learn more about the universe, stars and galaxies, and ways of determining the distance to them. As our knowledge of the universe expands and changes on a daily basis, so does the number of models and new ideas increase, which enable us to better understand the space and its inner workings.

The admission to all lectures is free, however, the number of places is limited. You can pick up the tickets at museum’s ticket office on the day of the lecture. All lectures are in Croatian.

You can find out more and attend the event on Facebook here.
