Two comedians from Poland and Estonia will be performing at Studio smijeha tonight.
You’ve made it halfway through the work week, which is definitely cause for celebration – and what better way to celebrate than to laugh at some great jokes in English.
Studio smijeha is hosting their Stand Up in English night with two comedians – one from Poland, and one from Estonia, tonight, August 30, 2017, at 8.30 p.m.
Piotr Szumowski
A fully international comedian. He has performed in over thirty countries, on five continents, in three languages. Yes, Peter survived 409 days travelling around the world. How did he do it? Nobody knows. For the last 10 minutes, he has been trying to open a ketchup sachet, and then decided to pour mustard on french fries. The last sentence of his undergraduate thesis is “Newton died at the end of his life.” And to this day Pete thinks Ikea is a hot dog restaurant that sells furniture on the side. During the trip, he drank ayohuasqua with a shaman in Peru, fell in love with a Colombian prostitute, heard his future from a Hindu fairy and almost started a riot with seals in New Zealand.
He has performed on Polish National TV, Comedy Central, Indian car commercials (not a joke) and at major festivals around the world. Today, apart from performing in Polish and English, he leads the international comedy scene in Warsaw, wrote a book and is still thinking how to create a more comfortable ketchup sachet.
Ari Matti Mustonen
A rising star in both his homeland of Estonia and internationally, Ari Matti Mustonen has a bright future ahead of him. With enough energy to power a small town and punchlines to match, Ari has been enthralling audiences around the world with stories about his life growing up in Eastern Europe. He was born in Norway, has the most Finnish sounding name ever (you do know what Finnish names sound like right?) and grew up in Estonia. Ari has an effortless charm (ok, it takes some effort) while being unafraid to put forward his point of view.
In his 5 years career in Stand Up, Ari has spent 2 of those on the road in Australia, becoming a regular in Melbourne and around the country. Throughout Asia, he has performed at the Bangkok Comedy Club, Bangkok Hilarious, Crackhouse Kuala Lumpur, LOL Comedy, Takeout Comedy among others. He has opened for Chris Franklin, Al De Bene, Rizal Van Geyzel, Jim Brewsky, Lawrence Mooney.
Ari’s other passion is MMA, previously being a fighter himself and he is currently a fitness instructor. He has become a figure in the local MMA community in Estonia and has commentated numerous International pay per view fights.
“Great comedy wit. Internationally appealing” – CHRIS FRANKLIN
“Ari is a great stand up! He has an enviable fearlessness. He’s going to go on to make many many people laugh all over the world.” – GLENN WOOL
