Get to know the wines of Hvar’s biggest wine producer – with quality and quite a range.
Looking for a cheap table wine or an organic oak-aged gold medal winner? You will find what you are looking for at the Svirče Cooperative, Hvar’s largest and most varied producer.
Prices start at just 16 kuna a litre for the table white and red, and the range of 14 wines increases in quality, with the star performer – the organically certified Ivan Dolac Barrique – claiming organic gold in Germany last year.
To buy the wines from the cooperative, check out the cooperative shops on the waterfront in Jelsa or the old town of Stari Grad, or why not pop in to the cooperative itself before 1500 and buy the wines direct from the winery. Tastings can be arranged by prior appointment – more details and prices here.
To see the complete Svirče Cooperative range, check out the revolving box on the wine blog homepage here.
