Continuing our look at some of the best beaches on Hvar in pictures, today we head to the south side and the spectacular bay of Dubovica.
For many it is the perfect bay. South-facing, with clear water, a fine restaurant and a long small pebble beach, the picturesque stone buildings give the protected bay of Dubovica an additional charm.
Despite access not being the best – a tricky descent down a rough path – the beach is extremely popular in the summer, as tourists head out from the towns to enjoy this stunning bay.
Dubovica is located just off the main Stari Grad to Hvar Town road, on the left as you come out of the tunnel from Stari Grad. There is no car access, so you have to park on the main road above – there will be plenty of cars already there.
There is an excellent new addition for this summer, as the Hvar Town Tourist Board and some dedicated volunteers have been busy clearing the old paths of the island, so that tourists can enjoy more hikes.
