Hvar is known for its great gourmet offer, with its fabulous seafood and freshest local ingredients, washed down with award-winning international wines and olive oil.
So healthy is Hvar’s Mediterranean Diet that it was inscribed as UNESCO intangible heritage back in 2013.
Giorgio Armani named one Hvar restaurant in his top 7 in the world.
And yet, despite all this, there has never been a Hvar restaurant in the esteemed Michelin Guide.
Until now.
The world-famous gourmet bible now has one entry for the island of Hvar, but while many might expect that accolade to go to one of the better-known restaurants in Hvar Town, the Pakleni Islands or even Milna, it goes instead to Stari Grad.
Congratulations to Heritage Villa Apolon, whose restaurant now appears in the 2018 Michelin Guide:
Facing the charming quiet harbour of Starigrad, this restaurant boasts minimalist decor in its dining room and a large terrace with sea views. The menu features a selection of delicious contemporary Mediterranean-style dishes.

Never been? Here is what you are missing.
Heritage Villa Apolon has been a fantastic addition to the Stari Grad scene since it opened a few years ago, raising the level firstly of the four-star accommodation scene, and now its restaurants. Located on the water at the end of the extended riva, it has become a hit with the yachting community, as well as guests from Hvar Town looking for a quieter luxury accommodation option in season.
