Of all the hotels in Hvar Town, the one which has the most unfulfilled potential and even potentially the best location is Hotel Delfin. A two-star hotel in a five-star location, with a view even better than that, one wonders what it might be if the hotel is (and it surely will be one day) fully renovated into the accommodation that such a stellar location deserves.
Located on the other side of the harbour opposite the old town and riva, its generous terrace offers the ideal spot to watch the relaxed day to day life of the harbour in Hvar Town pass by.
Because it is a two-star hotel, it is often overlooked by guests looking for something a bit more upmarket, and because it has uch an A-list location, it is usually assumed to be out of the league of the increasing number of backpackers who are frequenting Hvar Town, but the reality is that it probably offers among the best value in the town for such a central and waterfront location.
Only open three months a year from early June until the beginning of September, the more basic two-star hotel services are more than offset by the location and views, and if you are a backpacker looking to blend in with the super rich lifestyle, you can dream a little while looking out from your hotel room or breakfast table. And one thing that Delfin really does offer is an exceptional price. Book now for early June for example, and you can get a standard double room (without sea view) for just 40.60 euro, or just over 20 euro a person per night. First row to the sea in one of Europe’s hottest destinations waving at the super yachts moored up in the harbour opposite.
Of course, a sea view from the room would be desirable, and that can be yours for the same period for 58.40 euro, or 29.20 per person.
Not bad!
Not bad at all!
As part of the Suncani Hvar Hotel chain, there are various combinations with booking which allow guests to take advantage of some of the other facilities of the company, as well as various discounts. Hotel Delfin has 55 rooms, and it is also home to the Delfin Sports Bar and Grill, which is a great place to hang out and meet fellow travellers, and an essential spot for sports fans, especially during major international sporting championships.
And like the accommodation itself, the menu is more than affordable, with pizzas starting at just 50 kuna. Check out the full menu with prices here.
Surely one of the best value 5-star views in Dalmatia – dinner and a waterfront bedroom view to wake up to for less than 40 euro a night in one of Europe’s prime locations.
So if you are looking to backpack in style next summer and rub shoulders with the jetset on a shoestring budget, check out the offers at Delfin. Learn more about the hotel on the official website.
